Hello. I'm thinking of doing my LPN-RN program at Capscare Academy in FL, anyone doing this program? How is it? Is it a good program? I was told I can take my NCLEX in MD, but it would be under FL NCLEX, then I can "transfer" my license to MD once I pass the NCLEX since it's a compact state? Is this true?
Approval and accreditation are 2 separate things. Approved means the BON will allow students to sit for NCLEX. Accreditation means the program has taken the extra, voluntary steps to demonstrate that their program meets criteria for national recognition by one of the two accrediting bodies for nursing education. These are both things that should be investigated before choosing a program. Depending on where you live, some facilities not only require graduation from an approved nursing program (state BON) but also an accredited one (national voluntary process) to be considered for hire.
I graduated from Capscare, took my RN NCLEX exam with North Carolina September 2019 exam and pass. They are no longer on FL BON but are listed under the Department of Education. If you call them they will tell you they are accredited program. At one time their where approved. Than had some issues which went into probationary period.
Hello! I attended Capscare Academy and graduated last year May 2018. I pass my RN exam through NC BON. The school was approved when I attended September 2016 and went on probation last year. They are no longer listed on FL BON. The current students can finish the program and sit for boards. They are no longer accepting new students after June 2019. From my understanding, Maryland BON is giving students who pass a hard time because they would like to see additional course work besides the transcript. If they can get what they are asking for they do not have a problem issuing the license to students in Maryland. I was told this by a classmate who has a few friends in Maryland.
I attended the intuition and I'm preparing to take my HESI exit we must score a 950 to exit the program the online LPN TO RN was very flexible for me. However the intuition does require you to pay 10k out of pocket to attend the school broken up into 500 payments a month. Capscare does not have ACEN accreditation but has FL approval and you have to contact your state BON for information in regards to eligibility to sit for NCLEX and be licensed in your state I did check with my state prior to enrolling, several times while in program, and recently towards the end of my program. Students are awarded ADN and I've been in contact with 6 schools for RN to BSN programs that are CCNE accredited that will allow me to matriculate. It's definitely based on personal preference and what works best for you check out ICHS.EDU as well they are regionally accredited but more expensive. I was looking for months for more information from past students and couldn't find anything until starting the program so I'm happy to share information with individuals who are interested!

Thanks so much for sharing. I plan to attend once I finish my LPN program due to the cost, but I'm glad you had a great experience.
