i cant find an LPN job

Ok... this is ridiculous at this point. Seriously? 1 yr of experience is required in every damn places. How the hell do new grads find a job? I've been referred by two people in two different places and still no luck. So I know that network doesn't mean crap in this situation. Maybe nursing is a dying career? I'm seriously going to discourage people to become nurses. This frustrates me so much.

Just apply everywhere. Even the places that say you need a year of experience.

Apply everywhere and everything and maybe try to do homehealth or corrections until you find something you want

I know what you mean, you get a point where you you start to question if you made the right choice. But we have to hang in there until something comes or it was all for nothing and can't accept that

All I can suggest is apply anywhere and everywhere that you can. It may not be your ideal job, but it will get you in at least. Don't look/pay attention to that experience, just apply. The worst they can do is reject you, then at least you know you tried.

I went through exactly the same thing when I tried to find a job at first. I found my first job through an agency. It's not the ideal way to start, but if nothing comes through perhaps an agency will help you get in.

I got my first nursing job because the office needed someone NOW. They'd fired one MA and the other two walked out in protest (she was calling in scripts for herself that the doc didn't write) and I found the job posting and applied and got a call to come in the next day. I interviewed, was brought back for a working interview the next day, and started the next day. Ask if your school has a placement assistance program, or if your teachers know someone, of even if your clinical rotation facilities need someone. Make sure your clinical experience is clearly stated on your resume. I know it doesn't count because it wasn't a "job" but you did real, hands-on, clinical procedures with real patients in real settings, so that may help. I've got 5 years and can't find a job now, so it's not just you!! Good luck!!
