Minimun two years in ONE specialty to know what you are doing... like the other poster, no agency will want you as the hospital's are demanding that much experience and some even more...stay put in one specialty, know it inside/out and know that when you do go to travel you will be a newbie (grad) to the staff...good luck.

I have just recently graduated this April 2011! I have since been working casual on Surgical. I am currently orientating to Maternity as well (I took my Perinatal courses during school). I am wanting to write the NCLEX exam because my fiance is a Minor League baseball player. He is gone to Philadelphia for a quite a long period of the year, and long distance is really getting hard for us. With this situation he could be traded or moved to a different team/location at any time so I was thinking of looking into travel nursing and hoping to be able to go with him next season (March!).
So my questions are:
1) Any opinions on the best study book for the NCLEX?
2) Does anyone know how travel nursing would be for a New grad? I have just got comfortable at my small town hospital but I am excited for new challenges.
- What are some good Travel Nursing adgencies?
Any ideas would be great :) Thank you!
