You need to take the NCLEX for ANY state. Passing it is requirement to work in the US.You would need to apply for a license in the state you want to work in,pass the NCLEX, find a job and then I think you can apply for a TN visa.
TN visa? Do i need a SSN in order to apply for nclex?

You should first check the requirements with the State BON you wish to be licensed for, since the requirements vary slightly.

You don't need a SSN to take the NCLEX, however, you do need a SSN to obtain a ND license. I am not sure about SD. They way you do that is you get a license in a state that does not require SSN such as Minnesota, then you get a job offer and apply for a TN at the border. Once you have your TN you apply for your SSN and then you can get your license.
