Hello everyone!

Anybody in here who is undergoing the Provincial Nominee Program in any provinces in Canada by their employer?

It would be much appreciated if you will share your experiences and could also share the time-frame of each of the specific steps.

This is my experience so far. mind you i am a registered psychiatric nurse so my experience might differ from general registered nurses.

February 2007 - completed registration with the College of Registered psychiatric nurses of BC

February 2008 - visited BC to write registration exams. not necessary but no doubt helped secure a jo.

June 2008 - telephone interview with interior health. interview successful

september 2008 - confirmation of job offer from interior health after references and other checks.

september 2008 - applicaton forms for PNP emailed to me from interior health

07 October 2008 - interior health sent PNP application to Health Match BC

08 October 2008 - Healthmatch BC forwared application to BC ministry responsible for PNP nomination.

21 October 2008 - BC PNP emailed to confirm application was recieved on 10 october 2008 and given a file number.

25 october - PNP replied an email i sent enquiring how long PNP process take. they said 3-4 weeks maximum.

present- WAITIIIINNNG....

After some delays in my application due to a a new baby and getting police certificates from ghana i finally did my medicals on 21 February 2009.

I sent off my WP application again including new babys details.

back to waiting again...

january 2008 submitted crnbc application and at the same time looking for canadian employer.

march 2008 pre-assessment letter received from crnbc asking me a copy of the retake

scores of tests 3 and 5 of the june 2006 nle.

april 2008 assessed and made eligible with crnbc.

june 2008 interview with the employer over the phone.

july 2008 received job offer thru email.

august 2008 provincial nominee program (pnp) application started.

october 1, 2008 pnp application sent to ministry of economic development for

nomination by health match bc.

october 14, 2008 successful nomination from the province of british columbia as provincial nominee.

october 27, 2008 received an e-mail telling me of the successful nomination.

november 3, 2008 received permanent residence application package from bc pnp office.

november 10, 2008 visa application sent to canadian embassy, manila. (work permit & permanent

residence applications). payment made thru manager's check and bank draft.

work permit - php 6,300 ($150 cad), permanent residence - php 22,000 ($550 cad).

november 12, 2008 all documents were returned and received notice of incorrect payment processing

fee. (effective november 10, 2008, the processing fee for work permit is

php 6,000.00 equivalent to $150 cad due to currency fluctuation.

november 15, 2008 documents resent to canadian embassy, manila.

december 5, 2008 - received notice for medicals from the embassy:d

No but I grew up in Ivory Coast next door and my parents went to Ghana many times (for church conferences or work, Accra and Kumasi) and I have friends from Ghana... and I absolutely love Kodjo Antwi!

i cannot believe it myself. i got my Permanent residency visa today. CIC london told me i do not need Work Permit and that they were ready to issue PR visa on 10 march 2009. then 14 march 2009 i get the visa. goodluck to the rest of you.

congratulations on your visa!!! I just want to ask if the embassy did an interview before giving your visa?

no breech, they did not request an interview. i am actually suprised how smooth and fast my application had been processed.

How long did you wait before you had your visa from the time you submitted your docs to the embassy?

I submitted my application on 10 December 2008. Recieved medical forms 07 january 2009, I did my medicals on 21 february 2009. permanent Reidence Visa issued on 11 march 2009. Like i have said earlier i am still in shock at how fast my case has been processed. What is going on with yours? are you required to have an interview?

Congrats on the PR visa. This was a very fast timeline indeed but you are not complaining about it are you? lol! So when are u leaving if you don't mind me asking? Where in BC are u settling?
