I plan to take HAAD to by the end of this year, hopefully I pass. :) I'd like to hear some stories from our colleagues there in Abu Dhabi. What life can a Filipino nurse expect there?

I heard that Western nurses are paid double or triple compared to Asian nurses. How much salary should I expect if I am from Philippines? I have 2 years experience in Medical floor.

I actually having a dilemma where to pursue my nursing career. Should it be in Canada or UAE?

By Jan 2013, they said that Canada will reopen its doors again for Foreign Skilled Workers (FSW) but the process to be a registered nurse in Canada is very tight as per checking online.

Can anyone from here guide me and enlighten me?

Your response will be highly appreciated!

More power to us all!!!

Why don't you apply for both. While waiting for Canada, work in UAE. UAE is a great place to work. Depending on where you work, Asian and Western nurses salaries are not that different. It is a long, hard process to get licensed in Canada, especially considering that you might need to undergo SEC assessment. There is also no assurance that your application would be included in the cap of 500 nurses for 2013, if nurses are still on the list.

Thank you for your reply miamomiami! Well I heard that it's really hard to be a registered nurse in Canada with all the process that a foreign nurse needs to undergo. I think I should just focus in fulfilling the requirements needed so I can apply in UAE. I also want to undergo Australia's bridging program but the tuition is really expensive and besides I am not that fluent in English.

Anyone here who would like to be my English teacher? Hehe I can call you if you are from USA or Canada... You might want to share your skill with me:)

By the way miamo, What country are you from? Do you work as a nurse right now?

Does the new 2013 FSW rules list registered nurses now? Sorry, I didn't find a link anywhere. I'm not looking to work in Canada, but asking for my PH friend who is. Thanks!

I only know that the FSW applicants will have to fall within NOC's O, A and B which includes Registered Nurses.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

The list isn't out until Jan 13 so will have to wait until then to find out
