Langara Fall 2017

World Canada CA Programs

Hi!

It's super early but I wanted to start a thread for those planning to apply to Langara for the Fall 2017 intake!

I am finishing one last prerequisite and will be applying as soon as applications open in November.

Who else is going to apply to this intake?!

Hey! I am also applying for the Fall 2017 intake at Langara, as well as for BCIT and Douglas.

That's awesome! Can I ask you what GPA you're applying with? Have you finished all the prerequisites?

I'm going to be applying to BCIT as well :)

Just finishing up a pre-req! For Langara, I'm predicting my GPA to be around 3.55. Judging by what I've heard from the last two intakes, I'll be quite surprised if I get in, but who knows. Do you know how GPA is calculated for BCIT?

Hopefully the GPA cutoff is lower for this intake. The last intake with the new requirements has me feeling very nervous, lol :/

As for how GPA is calculated at BCIT, I e-mailed an admissions advisor a while ago and she directed me to this page where it shows the grade equivalencies: BCIT : : Admission & Registration : : Post-Secondary Course Equivalencies

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the link! I know what you mean , what about you, GPA wise?

You're welcome! My GPA right now is 3.92 with four of the prereqs completed. Hoping to bring it to a 4.0 with this last anatomy and physiology course I'm doing! Fingers crossed!

That's an amazing GPA, congrats!! Is Langara your first choice?

Thank you!

Langara is definitely closer to home for me, so yes it is my first choice! However if I were accepted to Langara and BCIT, I'd be torn between the two. I hear great things about BCIT's program, so that would make for a very difficult choice. Which school is your first choice?

That would be a tough decision! As for me, I can't really say until I know what my options are and where I can get in :/. I don't think I can afford to be too picky, but each program has its pros and cons. Douglas is definitely my first choice, both location and program-wise, though the lengthy waiting time to get in is a downside. On the other hand, I've also heard so many great things about BCIT's program and the location is okay too, so hopefully I can get in. The commute to Langara is the farthest and my GPA for this program is the lowest out of the three, so I'm not counting on it too much; but we'll see what happens.

I'm applying to Langara in November for Fall 2017....

Gah. Just thinking about it has me incredibly stressed out.

Yes I was looking at Douglas too but the waitlist really puts me off from it. Hopefully you get into that program. Do you have any volunteer experience?
