Can we start a new forum for "older" student nurses

it seems there has been tons of interest concerning us "older" students. :chuckle you know, 35 and older who started the whole process late. everytime someone asks if "anyone else is out there?:confused: " the thread is flooded. it would be great to have our own forum like the "male nurse forum". if not a forum, how 'bout a sticky??? thanks for considering us older, wiser, (hah) and second career-ers!

Yes Dublin congrats on getting in! :) I read an old thread in which you posted which titled wait list 2-4 years. That's why I was interested if you got into school and how long you waited. The thread was started 2 years ago.

I'm going to LVN school this fall and will have all my pre-reqs done by the time I graduate from that so when I pass licensure I can apply to my community college to bridge to RN which is not as long a wait as just going straight RN.

Hey I"m in So CA too. SD actually. My friend was just told last year that the wait list was 4 years now. Then they just contacted her to see if she was still interested (after waiting a year) and they said it was 2. She appears to be about 50 btw. (hope she never reads this! :chair: LOL ) To do the bridge the wait list is a year but some have told me they got in in one semester.

Hi Fun, I have heard that the average age of nurses today is like 47. Some say 48. A nursing school counselor told me 50.

Hahaha that would be funny to have a special forum for the younger nursing students or younger students! LOL! :)

I would like to start next year (32) but I might have to wait until I'm 35+ 'cuz I'm homeschooling my little ones and want to wait until they are ready for independent studies...
