My school has a very low passing rate, so to make sure every one gets to attend graduation my school has moved the graduation date to 4 months after the last day of our school. is that possible? would that cause the board to keep my papers until I graduate? or will i be able to take nclex and receive my license without the proof of graduation .
Thanks.

I would talk to your nursing department/school administrative people, bringing up the fact that they have to tell the state you've graduated so you can sit the NCLEX and start working. If they have you listed as having graduated on paper and send that on to the state, it doesn't matter when you walk, or even if you bother to at all.

you don't have to go through the graduation ceremony to take the boards and get your license. my school only has one graduation a year for everyone, but has 2 nursing intakes, graduation is in may, my class finished finals this month. we'll sit for our boards, get licensed and start working, then come back in may to graduate .

You are eligible to take the NCLEX once you have completed your degree requirements. Graduation is just a ceremony.
missdeevah i took my finals on sept 25, and took a exit exam required only by my school on nov. 4, the board received all of paper work on nov. 16, i haven't heard from the board, what steps do you have to take?
Ask your school, they should know the process for your state.

First, congratulations on surviving nursing school!
Have you registered with Pearson Vue yet? I never heard directly from the BON until they sent me my license; Pearson Vue e-mailed me my ATT once they were informed that I was cleared to sit for NCLEX, and I was then able to schedule.
augustrain thanks, i know nursing school was pretty hard. I have not gotten a clearance letter from the BON yet, when i registered for pearsonvue they told me that if I pay the 200 dollars before hearing from BON that would put the 200 at risk for losing it. so i dont know if i should wait, my school told me that ineed to wait until i receive a letter from the board and they have never heard of pearson vue. lol my school sucks prettty bad.

your school has never heard of pearson vue? wow. that's interesting. i would get with both your school and the board to find out what the next step would be. we applied for the license and paid peareson vue before graduation. the school sent off our information to the board the day after our finals. our next step is to wait for the att from pearson vue. this was the same process when i went through lvn school, and that was a different school. to the best of my knowledge, it's the same everywhere. contact your school and the board asap to find out what your next step is...find out if the board has received all your information from the school, your background check, etc.
congratulations on finishing with nursing school and good luck on the boards!

my school also advises its students to send all paperwork into the state and to send the nclex fee to pearsonvue before graduation. it allows you to "get in line" to set a test (nclex) date.
