I'm licensed at Missouri but Illinois is so strict about me requiring nursing license at country of education.. and of course that's not going to happen. I live here in Illinois so I want to work here. Question is, "If I work here in Illinois even not as a nurse or at least something related to nursing profession will I be able to have my license endorsed via employment at Illinois"?
You will do best to contact the Illinois Board of Nursing to determine their (strict) licensing requirements.
if a board of nursing requires an ieb (international educated nurse) to have been licensed in country where received nursing education, then by not having taken and passed philippine exam, one would not qualify for licensure --so license from another state could not be endorsed.
link to each states boards of nursing found botom of every allnurses page.
ill: license regulations – internationally educated nurses in english
requirements for an internationally educated nurse:
proof of education equivalency in the form of one of the following is required:
• credential evaluation service report and proof of passage of either toefl or ielts; or,
• visascreen certificate (original), or,
• cgfns certificate (original)
proof of passage of the national licensing examination:
• nclex - national council licensure exam
must be licensed in country from which you received your nursing education.
you would be permtted to work in any healthcare setting not requiring license. an mod team has always advised in
international nursing forum to take licensing exam in country educated prior to immigration to us or other countries!
