Whoa whoa whoa... I passed the NCLEX. It's active in Michigan but I live in Illinois. "Be licensed in the country of education" That's the requirement that I can't fulfill.

I graduated with a BSN in the Philippines back in 2009, adapting to NCLEX was pretty intense so I ended up getting my license back in 2011. I postponed "quite a while" back and I'm finding it difficult to get a job. By the way, I'm living in a state where I am not licensed nor can I EVER get reciprocity to this state. For someone that's practically idle for 5 years (no study or practice in the field) I fear the worst for my license and what ever career I can land. I was thinking taking non-clinical career or something to ease into before I take on a more difficult role which I would prefer. I'm preoccupied with being nursing assistant right now and it's getting me worried because I feel like I'll never get out. To progress I'll get ACLS certified to spruce up my resume and hopefully increase my chances of getting hired. RN refresher course is an option too but the soonest that I found is in July. I'd love to hear everyone's input. What should I do? What can I do? What options do I have?

I finished in the Philippines and didn't take the local boards because I was never planning to work there. It's crazy because I'm already a nurse in one of the states yet they don't waive that or even work in my favor given I'm an American Citizen. Illinois is too strict.

Aside from nursing licensure compact. Will any other state accept? I can't get my license here in Illinois though I'm a MI nurse. What can I get in Illinois with a MI RN license? Eventually I'd be forced to move but preferably not MI again. Any states allowing?

I'm curious.. what happened to you? Did you go to Montana? I'm an American Citizen who finished my nursing in the Philippines and resides in Illinois. I think there was quite some leeway back in the past. like people say that get 2 years experience and you can "reciprocate" your license. or getting a waiver was "apparently" possible. but I don't think so. And I just tried again, wasted $350 for a CES that can't even be forwarded to Illinois. I'm at a huge stop in my life because Illinois is my state, I'd prefer not to move. I did for a while when I got my MI license but now I'm back in Illinois working as a nursing assistant which is demeaning for me because I'm a nurse but this is all I could get because someone helped me get in and all other jobs I see myself getting into say that I'm overqualified. And to tell you the truth I'm pretty sure I'm dull now because I haven't had experience ever since I graduated back in 2009

Foreign graduates who's education differ from USA might want to do a lot of review on NCSBN NCLEX Review. NCLEX questions originate from them so it's a guarantee that you will be prepped for the hard questions.

You got me worried steppybay.... I graduated 2009 in the PH and passed my NCLEX 2011 at Missouri. And I DO NOT have a Philippines License, though CGFNS certified my credentials (CES) back in 2011 stating that it is equivalent to US course. I can't get a PH License because I'm an American Citizen.

I'm here in Illinois and I'm trying to endorse (reciprocity) my license (Missouri/ Michigan) to CA because family is going to help me get into a hospital. All the info should be on their site (Board of Registered Nursing), or if you want the details up front you really have to call them. One thing that's keeping me is my transcripts from the Philippines.

After a long period of reviewing, taking the exam, and failing quite a few times. I became a Missouri RN. and that was great but here's the deal... graduated in 2009, became a RN February 2011, reciprocated to Michigan that same year, am a resident of Illinois (and always was during the whole time), was a nurse assistant at a nursing home 10/2009-06/2011 in Illinois and been unemployed ever since. Now, what job can I possibly take to enhance my chances to actually work as a nurse? Oh, and I renewed my license and I haven't even used it. Help! I find myself pretty skilled with computers so something involving the 2 might be very beneficial.

Exactly what I was gonna ask, I hope someone still responds. Anyways like the subject says I too am a BSN graduate from the Philippines and would like to know if I can convert it to US BSN. I'm asking it again because I'm hoping I could get a faster response then having to call people around.. Oh and it'll help a lot if you give me some info about how it is here in Illinois. My bro said it's what they do in the Navy (having their degree converted), so it should be possible in the civilian setting.

I was educated in the Philippines so thats what complicates it all. So no one heard about having the license endorsed because of employment at that state?

I'm licensed at Missouri but Illinois is so strict about me requiring nursing license at country of education.. and of course that's not going to happen. I live here in Illinois so I want to work here. Question is, "If I work here in Illinois even not as a nurse or at least something related to nursing profession will I be able to have my license endorsed via employment at Illinois"?

Just recently I passed the NCLEX under Missouri and I'm planning to endorse my license to IL. I was wondering if anyone knows. I asked Missouri if there's anything I need to do for them or any fees but I was just told that it's IL that should tell me what to do like what are the requirements. Can't find anything on the IDFPR site and I don't wanna call. So please help me out here. Thanks!
