I would check for sure with your school, but at mine neither was a prereq for the other, so technically you could have taken them together.
However, I don't know many people who would suggest taking two lab sciences at the same time. Both classes were very time consuming in out of class time spent studying.
If you are going to apply to a competitive entrance program, you will need to get excellent grades in both courses. Can you do justice to both courses if you take them together? I chose to take "fluff" courses when I took my biologies. I took my psych with Anatomy and speech with Micro. Knew I'd need those eventually and they were a lot less time consuming than the sciences.
But, it certainly is possible to take them in many cases and to do well. Best of luck on your decision.
Yeah, I am taking Chem 1 and A&P 1 together in the Spring and they both have labs. Its going to be alot of work but I think I can swing it. Its all about time management.
Question, do you think it will hurt my chances of getting into an ABSN program if I have micro in progress while I am taking it or do they want to be able to see your A&P and Micro grades when you apply?
IThe last biology class I took was my freshman year of highschool, 1992!
FYI - many places require you to have a college level "intro to biology" or "Biology Basics" before being allowed to take either one of these classes - I can think of a few schools (both 2 and 4 year schools) that will not allow someone with just HS biology to take these classes.

I have registered for both of these classes next semester but I don't know yet if they will actually let me do this. Can these be taken together? Will I have a really hard time in Micro? The last biology class I took was my freshman year of highschool, 1992!
