Can a LPN become a CEN?

Published

I am graduating from LPN school in April. I am currently an EMT for 12 years and have been a ER tech for 6 years. I want to go back and get my RN ASAP. I would like to know can a LPN become a CEN? I have looked online at a CEN web site and it stated that the test was developed for an RN but does not state whether an LPN can take the test. If any one can help me find out I would really appreciate it.

You have to be licensed as an RN. I'm not aware of any specialty certifications that are available to LPNs.

Specializes in icu/er.
Specializes in LTC Family Practice.

I'm not aware of any specialty certifications that are available to LPNs.

No offence but that statement is not true.

Visit our LPN/LVN corner, there are certifications for LPN/LVN's

No offense taken, haha -- we could spend all day listing the stuff I don't know ... :) (Which is why I qualified my original statement, that I wasn't aware of any.)

Thanks for the information
