Can I take NCLEX in India?

Hi All,

Please help me with these (or any one you can):

  1. Can I take the NCLEX in India?
  2. Can I register for the NCLEX while I am still in India, then take it in the US when the time comes - that way, I can send all the necessary documents, etc myself.
  3. Can we send the BON photocopies? If not, will notarized copies do, where can I get them notarized?
  4. Are there any good agencies in Delhi that help with NCLEX?

My fiance lives in the US and I will join him in later this year. I want to use my time in India towards the NCLEX. I want to start working in the US as soon as I reach it.

Have you started the process yet with a state BON?

Yes better to start the process now before arriving in the US in case there are any issues with your documentation.

Not sure in what capacity your fiancee is in the US but make sure you can work once you are married

Thanks SInverdragon102. My fiance is a US Citizen. I was thinking of registering from India and take the exam either in India or in the US. Do you know what documentation is required? I know this varies by states, but I'm guessing there more or less all the same. Please let me know what these documents are.

State requirements vary greatly. Many use CGFNS but not all states. CA does their own evaluation. Not all states require demonstration of English proficiency in reading, speaking, writing and comprehension but the majority do.

The only consistency between states is that all states require prospective nurses pass the NCLEX examination as a condition of licensing.

You need to pick a state where you wish to live and work and review their requirements for licensing by examination as an internationally educated nurse

You need to register with a state by following state requirements for International Trained Nurse and only once you have met state requirements will you get eligibility to sit NCLEX

I am from India and did my nursing in India. I have applied for California Nclex exam and took the exam failed at the first attempt now broad of nursing asking for international license verification so, I went back to India to get it. Since I am in India right now, could I take RN examination in India? if I do take it in India, will there be any problems in California board of nursing? please help

Hi i have same question i am in india right now and applied for NCLEX RN exam under New York Board of Nursing but my family stays in California i want utilise my time here , can i be able to transfer my licence from new york to California please help???
