Hi Everyone!
I'm a 32yo stay at home mom (for the last 12 years!). My youngest just started school, so now it's time for me to follow my dream. I would love to become a labor and delivery nurse. I'm just so nervous about getting started. I've been studying for the COMPASS test--which I will be taking this week. I'm a quick study and catch onto things pretty fast. But when I start thinking of all of the medical terminology, measurements, anatomy and physiology and other things I will have to learn it scares me to death. I plan on taking any general education classes I need (depending on my test results) as well as Anat & Physio I and dosage calculations this spring. They will be offering the HESI entrance exam in mid February...would it be a waste of time and money for me to take this? I have absolutely no experience at this point. I know there is a study guide available. Is it possible to study the guide and pass the test or should I just wait until next year. Am I too old to get this started? I guess I just need some encouragement and advice and who better to get it from than those who have been there and done that!!! Thanks so much!!
