Can I apply for a job before I graduate?

Hello everyone :) I will be graduating in June 2010 with my ADN in Registered Nursing. I really want to work in pediatrics and I was wondering if anyone has been able to apply for a position before they graduated? The position I'm looking at doesn't have a fill by date. Also, I have been volunteering in peds for almost 4 years and I am still volunteering there during nursing school (whew!), so I have made some good connections. Thanks for any info!

Probably your best bet. Doesn't hurt to ask.G'd luck

Definitely. We all interviewed and had jobs lined up during winter break before our last semester. Good luck!

Wow, thanks for all the great replies! So it seems as if my best bet would be to apply early! And I will definitely talk to the director in the peds unit. Also, my clinical instructor for peds (which is what I'm doing now and where I want to work) is a charge nurse on the floor. So, I am trying to do my best! I want her to have a good opinion of me should the director ask her about my performance. Out of the people who replied, most of you said you got hired after applying early, so I will definitely do that :) Thanks for all your help!
