can I apply to BON but do not take test within 2 years?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Can I apply to BON but do not take test within one or even two year(s)? Should BON re-approve on my test eligibility if I failed or if I postpone more than one and half an year? Or if I should re-apply to BON? Or I just need to reschedule Pearson?

Anything like ATT will prevent me from doing this? I heard there is some expiration date of ATT?

*** I do want to clear the BON approval step first, due to a critical situation I found that only New Hamsphire would allow foreign-educated student to take exam directly, I mean, bypassing the strange CGFNS certification which requires me to take the tough TOEFL. Their policy may change if I apply to BON after a year, then I lose this opportunity to take NCLEX directly (as suggested by my friends, to take NCLEX directly instead of CGFNS).

I am a foreign-educated Nurse. As my friends suggested, very possibly I will need more than 1 and half a year to take it, because it is so difficult to prepare for me.

Each BON has different requirements on how long they give eligibility to sit the exam. Probably better to ask them

once nclex registration is created, you have 365 days for the board of nursing to approve candidate eligibility and must test within the authorization dates or registration expires.

see: nclex registration

boards of nursing have varying times that applications must be complete in order for license to be granted, often 1-2 years application is purged and shredded. however, new hampshire requires that one must complete application requirements in 120 days per bottom of application form as application then purged = removed.

new fees are then required with new application. since you expect it to take 1 1/2 -2 years to meet requirements it would be prudent to wait till date you expect to take the test to apply .

new hampshire: application for license by exam

graduates of foreign registered nurse programs must submit official evidence of successful completion of the commission of foreign nursing schools (cgfns) examination or cgfns full course by course credentials evaluation. canadian educated nurses are not considered foreign for this application.graduates of foreign registered nurse programs must submit official evidence of successful completion of the commission of foreign nursing schools (cgfns) examination or cgfns full course by course credentials evaluation. canadian educated nurses are not considered foreign for this application.

-------I now noticed this by your reminding:

Application/licensing process not completed within 120 days will be purged.

But now My Q is that it looks it is possibly impossible to finish application plus licensing within 4 months even for US grads:uhoh3:. I would rather think, What the 120 days means possibly is from they got my application form till they can let me sit for the nclex. I would contact the BON anyway.

Thanks for reminding this about which I should talk with them.
