Ok I don't live in TX but there are probably plenty of programs in your area if you know where to look. What brochures do you get in the mail? Here adult Ed sends every house a brochure and you can look thru it for careers in Healthcare. What about ROP? That's another adult ed school but also works with training teenagers in high school. Have you checked your community college? Some have great training for several careers in healthcare. I went to my community college to look into their nursing program and they also gave me a brochure for the Health Occupations Center which trains for CNA and LVN. So they gave me even more options. Private programs advertise on television. Watch your tv for all the commercials then give them a call. They are expensive but most students get financial aid that attend them. Once you start looking around and making phone calls you can ask for more information about other programs in your area. Also, whenever you meet anyone working in healthcare ask them where they got their training. Some hospitals will train you too. Just ask around. Good luck! :)
I have tried the community college it doesnt start again till jan.neither does the hospital. We dont recieve brochures in our area.So I am in desperate need.

Try local Retirement/Long Time Care facilities.
Maybe look into health trades schools like the ones that teach medical assisting. Some of them also teach CNA training, but quite a bit more for the tech schools.
Good luck. :)

Another place you could try is your local chapter of the American Red Cross. In some areas this class is offered for free (other areas its very expensive) But its a 4 week class.
