can we get RN license with ITIN instead of SSN

Hey guys,

can any one pls let me know if we can get RN license with ITIN (individual tax identification #) instead of SSN. I do NOT have SSN and i have submitted my ITIN to BON. It is already a week and i haven't seen my name on BON webiste (if and ifffff i passed :confused: ).

Last year one of my friend was able to get her results in 2 days with only ITIN and no social security #. Has the rules changed in california??? from last year. If any one has any idea abt that pls let me know.

If you passed, you will get the license even without SSN. But you cannot work without it.

So if anyone with ITIN pass their nclex, can they see their name on BON website??????????? or do we need to wait untill we get the result in the mail in 3--4 weeks.

California does NOT participate in quick results and thats the bad part for us not knowing the result for so many weeks.

If you passed, you will get the license even without SSN. But you cannot work without it.

Not in Calfiornia. Only a letter that states that the nurse passed the exam, and meets all requirements. Nut no license, so no way to endorse license to another state as a licensed nurse in CA.

Some one may have been lucky and gotten their license with the ITIN# but actually it is not supposed to be, as the BON wants proof that you can legally work in the US, and you cannot with the ITIN#. That is the purpose for requiring the SSN#.

You cannot get a license without an SSN in North Carolina either.
