Hi, i have checked out the schools in Atlanta and surounding area's LPN and RN and it seems like they all have waitinglist, i have heard from this girl that there is a very small chance that i will get in. I think thats a shame, Atlanta and America needs more nurses ,they need to develop more programs.
Is it true that the Atlanta schools have long waiting list, and hard to get in to,?????????????
I have looked into Lanier Tech, Chattahoochie tech, Dekalb tech, Gwinnett tech, Griffin Tech, Georgia perimeter,
Are there any private schools wher eu get into right away but pay a bit more?
Thank you?

I don't know of any Atlanta area school that has a waiting list. Generally it is competative to get in but if you don't get in you have to apply again the next semester or year.

I do not know of any of the schools that have waiting lists in the Atlanta area either.
To answer Quilt's question, Georgia Perimeter College does have an LPN-RN program but it has already begun this year.
Good luck to you both and God bless.
I was told Atlanta Tech or either Atlanta metropolitan College has some waiting lists.
Thanks, i would still like to know more info on these schools, if anyone can help and on how hard it is to get in

Nursing school acceptance in Atlanta is pretty competitive. The average nursing student at Georgia State had mostly As in prerequisite courses with some Bs and NO Cs. Overall GPAs were in the high 3's. If you want to go accelerated, you have to be very competitive. However, it is not impossible to get in.

I don't know if you are still interested in the information about the PN program at Atlanta Tech or not but I do have some for you.
Atlanta Tech's PN program is in a period of extreme overhaul. These changes are said to be for the good of the program and we shall see. I am in 2nd level of the PN program and my class is the last that was accepted until further notice.
It used to be that all you did was take prereq and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and then you were in the program. That is so far from the truth now. There is a whole program that you must complete now as a prereq to even be considered for the PN program. It is called the Healthcare Assistant program.
1st quarter is MAT,PSY,ENG,SCT
2nd quarter is Intro to Health, A&P, Medical Terminology
3rd quarter is CNA,Pharmeceutical Calculations, Diet and Nutrition
You have to get at least a B in MAT,A&P, Intro,CNA and Pharmeceutical Calculations
You also have to maintain at least a 3.0 to even be considered for the PN program.
Some classes the final is the ERI test which is now some company owned by ATI
Whenever they reopen the program this is the only way to get into the PN program.
