Hello - I am new to this website! it seems very nice! I am wondering if ADN students can take the NCLEX-pn before they finish their RN. It seems to be pretty difficult to find info on this on the net. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ohio State Board of Nursing said no via email and I am awaiting Michigan's answer but am thinking it is probably no too because the application to get the license has spaces for OB+ped classes which I don't have until next year. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/cis_fhs_bhser_nurserelicpkt_74412_7.pdf
thanks everyone for all the info!

New York at one time had the option of sitting for PN exam after completion of two semesters of a four semester program. Then it got changed so that a student had to have completed three semesters of the four semester program (that was the option when I was at that stage of schooling, but none of my classmates opted for that). At this point, the rules have changed again and now there will be no option for an RN student to sit for a PN exam while they are still taking RN curriculum. Once they have passed the RN course requirements, of course, then it's the RN exam to take.
No more "work as an LPN while waiting to finish RN program" in NYS anymore!
