I got a job in LTC and worked as a STNA towards the end of my schooling. It worked out great. I only did 2-3 evenings per week. I had no problem getting a job. I am in Ohio.

OR as a medical assistant?

Specializes in Mother-Baby, Rehab, Hospice, Memory Care.

So you have graduated from nursing school? Are you a GVN? You should have a temporary license until you pass your boards. I worked as a GVN for a couple weeks before I got my license. The only difference is a $1-2 in pay per hour.

Specializes in Knuckle Dragging Nurse aka MTA.

I worked as a CNA all during nursing school, after I got my diploma up until I got my passing test result.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

LTC = Long Term Care facility (also known as a nursing home)

STNA = State-trained Nursing Assistant (Ohio calls them STNAs, but the other states refer to them as CNAs)
