Camosun Fall 2017

Published

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone's heard anything re: interviews? When I last spoke with admissions at the start of January they said they were only just starting to go through applications.

I got accepted too! So happy! :)

I received my acceptance letter today too!

I heard they mailed both acceptance and rejection letters, so everyone should know either way! I don't live in Victoria so I guess it will take a bit longer to get to me. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted so far :)

see you all in the fall! ;)

Hey everyone!

So I got told I was short listed? I also heard that apparently they have whats known as the "short list" and then the longer list.

Does anyone know if that true and if so any way knowing how many usually get short listed?

Thanks in advance guys!

do you know how long it is?

In the past they have put approximately 40-50 applicants on a waitlist. This means that if accepted applicants decline their seat, applicants will be selected from the shortlist to fill the seats available. Good luck!

Hi there,

I too am on the short list and the waiting is killing me. Have you heard back yet? I have called a few times but they won't tell me how many are still waiting or where I am on the list. I wonder how long the list is.

Good luck!

EHi guys! I'm going to be applying for the 2018 intake. I was just wondering how the whole admission process works. How would applying with a combination of high school-level and university tranfer sourses work? Also, is it possible to transfer credits that's already been transferred to another school? Like the course I'm taking right now is not transferrable to Camosun but is transferrable to another school. Finally, anyone know if someone got into the program with average grades (B's and C+'s), prerequisites are stressing me out and quite frankly a little depressing

Thanks!

The pre-requisites have changed from 2017 to the 2018 intake to include grade 11 courses as well , so I cannot offer you much advice but the program is extremely competitive. I would recommend attempting to increase your GPA as there were nearly 800 applicants this year, with only about 150 accepted to the program. This year they took the top 300 students based on GPA and then we all had to write the CASPR a test to assess our personality and abilities. From the 300, only 50% were accepted. I was accepted with a A- average, but I know others who had A+ average and were not accepted due to not getting a high enough score on the CASPR test. Unfortunately it's a test that you cannot study for, as you have no idea of the content prior to writing. If your courses are not transferable to Camosun, unfortunately you will have to upgrade at Camosun, or take another course that is transferrable to Camosun. It must be transferable to Camosun otherwise they will not count the pre-requisite as complete so you will be ineligible to move on in the application process. Hopefully that helps answer some of your questions. Good luck!
