Hi all,
I have posted a few times about my worries on getting into a nursing program and just wanted to share that I got accepted to Watts School of Nursing in Durham. I am so excited and I was wondering if any Watts students (or from other programs) had any advice on how they have gone about financing their education. I never had to deal with financial aid when I got my undergrad a few years ago and Watts is pretty pricey, (about $30,000). I plan to do the tuition reimbursement program with Duke when I graduate but I'm worried about what to do right now. Any advice on financial aid or private loan experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!:heartbeat
yes I am on facebook as well as the rest of the other students...it is really neat, we have a watts study group right now (for A&P) but you can see pictures of watts, the students, teachers, and classrooms to give you an idea of what it is like. just look up reese
I'm at mount olive now on thursday nights. You can find me on facebook. Send a friend request and we can go from there if you like....no pressure lol. Thanks for everything.
I'd like to find them on facebook. I'd also like to know what to expect when I do start Watts in June as far as class times. I'm going to try to stay on at my current job part time for a few hours after class and wondered what is the normal class times. I know they also break for a while in summer and I can't remember when that was. I can't PM now, I just found that out, I don't have enough posts. It would be great to talk to some others who are in the classes now or will be there when I am. Thanks

What would you like to know?
Lilloman, are you already taking classes? Do you have any pointers? I just purchased the book. Anything help!!!
W2, yes, I'm in Cohort9.
Pointers? On the entrance exam?
Man, that seems like a lifetime ago.
Speed and accuracy is the key.
Obviously the math.
The spatial stuff you can find online somewhere, I think Cape Fear CC has an online test that is similar for that.
And find a technique to work the reading comprehension quickly and well.
From what I understand the reading section is the area most have to retake.
Good luck!
