  1. I'd like to find them on facebook. I'd also like to know what to expect when I do start Watts in June as far as class times. I'm going to try to stay on at my current job part time for a few hours after class and wondered what is the normal class times. I know they also break for a while in summer and I can't remember when that was. I can't PM now, I just found that out, I don't have enough posts. It would be great to talk to some others who are in the classes now or will be there when I am. Thanks
  2. How do I PM someone? I'm trying to get in touch with current Watts or MOC students. I'll be starting Mt Olive in January and have some questions. Thanks
  3. Hi all, I wanted to share that I was accepted into the program. I start Mt Olive in Jan and Watts in June 2010. I'm an older student, Durham native, and very excited about school. Hope to talk to some others that may be in my class.
  4. Hi, I have a question about classes at Mt Olive. I know you will have to take 18 credit hours there. My question is about the Math class. It's MAT 120??? Is there a Math before that you required to take. EX. I tested out of Math 70 but not Math 80 at my previous community college. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and take Math 80 some place while I'm waiting on getting into Watts. I feel certain I will get in, just will take some time. I have some classes to transfer but still need those 18 hours at Mt Olive.
  5. Thanks for the information. I've not taken any tests yet but have taken the practice tests suggested on the Watts website. I had to miss the information session yesterday at Watts but there is another coming up.
  6. Hi all, I've come to the realization that it's not going to work out with me working full time at my current job and attending school. I'm now looking into going to look into Watts. I've taken a lot of the pre-requisites already but understand they may not transfer. My plan was to go to Alamance Community College Evening program but they only allow new students every 3 years. I don't have enough ranking points to get in this year and because I'm already 36 I don't want to wait another 3 years before beginning school. I'm wanting to hear from those who are working and going to school and just going to school. I'm curious as to what the schedule it like. I don't know exactly how I'm going to swing things. I still have a mortgage and bills. Though, I know it will be worth it in the long run and I'm passionate about being a nurse. Do you take classes in the evening and daytime at the same time? I'm clueless about this so any info you can give will be appreciated. Also, are there others starting Watts in my age group? Thanks!
  7. Hi, I'm currently on a waiting list for nursing school. If I have completed CNA course with clinical by mid March I'll get a ranking point boosting me up the list. Does anyone know of a place public or private that I can do this? Thanks so much
  8. I'll try to make this short. I'm a 36 year old single parent of a soon to be freshman in college. I have a mortgage and the monthly bills we all have. I have decided that instead of having a job I want a career and am going to nursing school. I am passionate about this and will make it happen whatever I have to do other than sacrificing my house and my son's college (he is getting a lot of aid). I'm taking pre-requisites now online and at the local community college. I will have all of them complete next fall. I work mon-fri 8-4:30pm, it's a great job that has benefits I can't replace immediately (vehicle, insurance, etc...) My boss will work with me but we are only open those hours so evenings aren't an option. I have a part time job I will have to leave and am fine with that. I want some input from others on what would they do in my situation. There is a waiting list for nursing, I can't find a college that will let me do all evening classes, all the general education classes will be complete whenever I'm able to get into the nursing program. I don't know anything about clinical times etc... I'd appreciate some suggests, opinions, experiences, advice, whatever I can get. I'm not getting much help at the schools on what is available or not. Thanks
  9. Hi, I'm new here so if I've not put this in the correct area please excuse me. I've decided to go back to school for my nursing degree. I'm taking pre-requesites at Durham Tech and have been for the last year. I need to attend school at night. My plan was to transfer to Alamance's evening sessions for nursing school but after looking online I don't think they are offering the courses in the evening now. Can anyone help me here? I'm looking for evening or weekend or both. I have a good job that I can't afford to leave until I'm ready to go to work as a nurse. Thanks for taking the time to read
