Calling all Southwest Tennessee Community College FALL 2013 Hopefuls!!

I was wondering what I could do to ensure I had proof they had everything! Do I need to bring all my other college transcripts with my file? I know its all on file with the school but I feel like I can never be too careful with these people. . lol. I plan on turning everything in on the 19th. I know Im super early but I'll feel better knowing its all turned in :) Now to finish this essay. Gahhh. I'm sure they get tired of reading sob stories so I think I'll steer clear of that

I'm sorry I have a ton of questions but its SO nice to speak to someone who has been there! Its like pulling teeth getting info from anyone answering the phones in that department!

Hi Amanda, thanks for the information. I plan to talk to them again when I go to complete my registration. I have also been talking to someone on another thread about the evening classes at Baptist. Just trying to look at all options before I jump in :yes:

I do I figure out my index score? Can I apply in Feb if I am in the still in the process of taking micro?

Basically, you calculate:

AP I Grade x 4

AP II Grade x 4

Micro Grade x 4

GPA x 1

NLN Test score x 10%

Ex: As in AP I & II and a B in Micro, 3.5 GPA, 100 on NLN

AP I=16

AP II=16

Micro=12

GPA=3.5

NLN=10

Total: 57.5

Does that make sense?

You can apply while taking Micro, but the points for the sciences are what make up a bulk of the index score :/

You really don't need an envelop. I did take my papers in an envelop but the person that reviewed everything gave the envelop back and I want to say she stapled them together and threw it in a pile.

Do we need to turn in our transcripts with our file? I mean, it should be in the system at school already but then again I want to make sure all my bases are covered. Im still waiting on my final transcript for this semester as well but I have everything else ready to submit.

No, all of your transcripts should be on file. Your NLN score should be on file as well. That's why I said it would not be a bad idea to call the records office (maybe tomorrow) to verify they have all of your transcripts and your NLN score on file. Then when you go in person to turn in your application, verify once again all of your transcripts and your NLN score is on file.

Im going to call the Testing center @ Macon tomorrow to see if the scores are in. I made an acct with the NLN so I saw my score a few days after I took my test. I was surprised I made over 100 :) . Now that everything is done, what on Earth will I do until they make the calls in April?! I wish they would notify sooner!

Get as much R&R as possible. Because when you get that call saying you have been accepted, I promise you are gonna need every bit of that stored energy!! Also are you going to get your BSN? If so, are you signed up for Spring classes to work towards that degree?
