Hi! I'm going crazy in suspense waiting to hear if I am accepted or not. Is anyone else trying for the fall 2011 semester at Southwest Tennessee Community College? How are ya feeling? I'm sweating bullets! Need some buddies on here!
Losing transcripts is a common occurance there at Southwest. I had the same thing happen to me and was forced to pay overnight fees from three different places to get duplicates sent in time. They required the official copies. It was a PITA.
And I see that it has been edited out, but I have one guess who the lady who called was. She's rather unpleasant, so get used to it. During orientation she was rude and abrupt with everyone.
I would wait about books until you get the book list. They change books sometimes. I know our OB book and the Mental Health book changed within the last year. Just wait until you know what the official texts will be.
My optimism isn't based on anything other than the time line from application deadline to notification last fall. It was less than a month. Our notice may be a little slower if they factor summer break into the equation of advanced notice.
Being that a uniformed index score is used for ranking, there shouldn't be too much deliberation involved in selection.
I was Accepted in the Summer I fast track program. I got my call yesterday @ 1:30pm. The deadline for the LPN fast track deadline was also Feb 1st. So good luck to everyone. If you have not yet, you will recieve your phone call soon. I am sooo....Happy right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it looks as if we've waited long enough. I'm ready for the phone call. I usually don't answer the calls I don't recognize, but lately I've been accepting calls from people I hate talking to so I don't miss "the phone call." Yep, I'm ready to return to my normal ways. Good luck everyone.

@grpman: I haven't dealt with Mrs. **** directly, but that sounds like the usual experience with Southwest. I had to send my HS transcripts 3 times in the last year despite the fact I received a Criminal Justice degree from Southwest 10 years ago.
@girlshunt2: I found that thread and bought most of the books recommended as opposed to the list provided by SW. Buying the books in between semesters seems to be a great idea. So far I have bought 6 books and only spent $150. It takes a little time scouring the internet, but cheap books are out there.
As for the cpr, drug screen, etc., you have at least until the semester starts to have everything complete from what I have heard.
