Just thought it would be nice to know of any and all BSN-MSN students currently enrolled, newly accepted and soon-to be enrolled students. I am soo EXCITED and NERVOUS about starting but I am still charging FULL_STEAM AHEAD!!! Because I am SOOOOO ready to move my career forward! I start the program Jan 3rd, 2011. Just hope this single mom; with 2 children whom does FT floor nursing , hasn't bit off more than I can chew....ANYWAYS..JUST ALITTLE ABOUT ME!!! :clown:

:nurse: Any current students; what have you found helpful to get through your studies ..which courses were the most intriguing ...how has your experience been overall?

:nurse: TO ALL: What are your professional plans after to finish the program ?

Just wanted to start a thread , in hopes that maybe we could check in with each other off and on throughout the program as a support system.

SENDING HIGH STUDENT SCORING-ABLE TO STAY UP AND STUDY-FABULOUS FUTURE JOB PLACEMENT .. VIBES TO ALL!!! :redbeathe

I am looking at enrolling in Walden soon. I refuse to stay a floor nurse forever :uhoh3: I am unsure of which route to take though. I have my BSN so I am going to be on a BSN track. I have pros and cons of each program. Education: I'm not sure that I want to be teaching. Never thought of being a nursing instructor. Informatics: I would love love to work with the computer side of nursing and such, but I'm afraid the jobs aren't there. Leadership/Management: This is the one I'm leaning towards. It seems to be broad enough that I can move up easily. Not sure if I would be good in an administrative position, but who knows where I'd end up.

I have a feeling I really would enjoy getting my degree online. I tend to be a self learner and work best on my own. So I'm not worried at all about the online component. I just have to figure out which program to settle on.

Good luck in your studies!! I'm sure you will do great! :nurse:

I will be starting Walden U on January 3. MSN in education. We may have some classes together. I am slowly getting prepared. I will be by the time school start. Good luck to all us all.

I will be starting the ADN to MSN track at Walden on Jan 3rd. However, I need to take a Statistics class first. I'm excited and scared. It's been decades since I've taken a class, but the posts are encouraging. I am also a self learner and motivated to move away from bed side nursing. I've served my time there. Can you believe I have Jury Duty on the 3rd! I'll be begging to not get picked! :uhoh3:

Good luck to all of you!

i am currently a Walden student on my third class. I have to tell you that it has been an adjustment for me with the work load but I think I finally have it under control. The researching in the library end of it is still confusing but I am improving and of course the APA format for papers is tedious for me yet. But there is great online support and the classes are intersting and going well.

I have applied to the MSN Leadership. I am hoping to start January 3rd. I think I have everything in. I have had several hoops to jump. Being the holidays, it is hard to get everyone moving to get the items I request to be sent to Walden. I suppose I will find out Monday! I am excited!

I am starting the RN to MSN Leadership tract January 3rd. Beginning with statistics. I am in denial right now. I work M-F in Cardiology and am a single mom with 2 boys, 7 and 4 y/o. I am doing it because I want to and because I feel I have to in order to support my kids. I know I can do it, I just also know it is going to be real tough. :(

The first suggestion I have gotten is to get the APA software called PERRLA, it sounds like it does the APA work for you. My advisor recommended it.

Well here is to a great first semster for all of us

I started in the RN-MSN Leadership and Management program in the Fall. So far, I'm very impressed with the program.

I am considering enrolling in Walden's MSN Informatics program. I have one more 8 week session left in the RN to BSN program through another school. A friend of mine is in the Public Health PhD program through Walden and loves it.

I love PERRLA! Life saver.
