CALLING ALL NEW LPNs! EAST COAST

Published

Hi! I was hoping to get some salaries for LPN new grads. What is your starting pay and what hospital do you work for? I have been surveying the hospital systems in my area and I have always been seeing several openings (carolinas medical center, novant, caromont health). Im just just wondering what you are getting.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Very few east coast hospitals hire LPNs....

Few that do place them in physician offices that are part of their network or similar work. Do not think a NYC hospital has used LPNs on acute care floors in decades.

listen ALOT of hospitals hire LPN's..im in nyc.. When i was doing my clinical rotation soooo many of them were LPNs and from my school.. the problem is getting in the hospital... i dont work for a hospital, i work for a clinic .. my starting is 24 an hr.. hospitals around here are the same.

I work in a surgical outpatient clinic that is attached to an inpatient hospital and in the clinic as a brand new LPN they started me at 13/hr.

last fall when i was in my last term in school our clinical instructor told us mount sinai was hiring lpns and that those of us who lived in the boroughs should apply. that being said, i do believe you do have to put your best foot forward when applying. good luck!

Central Florida here. A rural hospital, med surg/tele, offered me 19 without bennies, 16 with. A prison agency in town offered me 21 no bennies, 17 with.

I graduate next month.
