I just spit coffee all over my keyboard reading that. :D

Yes, I hear call bells at any time of day when I am not working. It usually means it's time for vacation....

The other night I shook my husband and told him to get that call light for me... :)

Haha I don't think I've done call lights, but vent alarms and bipap alarms, yes. It drove me crazy. FOR THE LAST TIME PUT YOUR BIPAP BACK ON WHEN YOU'RE DONE TAKING A DRINK! hehe

Laughed out loud at this!

The cheese is still on the cracker! I woke up one night, looked at my alarm clock and thought " 145, that heart rate is kind of fast". :D

Oh my gosh this happens to me ALL the time! and even my dreams are work-related!

Specializes in OB.

I spent all of one day (night shifter) in my dreams rushing from room to room fixing malfunctioning IV pumps that kept alarming. Woke up to discover road work out front. The "backup" beep on the trucks was the same tone as our IV pumps!

My 3yr old crawled in my bed in the middle of the night. In my dreams, I was actually asking the CNA to remove the patient from my bed and return her to her room!! LOL

I also check blood sugars and give insulin in my dreams!

Specializes in Adult Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery.

I work night shift and frequently wake up at noon in a half-asleep panic because I haven't assessed my patient yet!
