Did you apply? What are your stats like? If you get in will you go or do you have (an)other preferred option(s)? What things have you heard about the program?

Hello everyone! I haven’t received a video request either, hoping they will still consider me. Currently, debating to wait or reapply already for the next cycle.

This last time, the application was only open for a month before they closed it. Hopefully there will be enough time to reapply once they send out acceptances and rejections.

That's a good point. I hope they know already, my Youtube video has not been viewed yet so I'm thinking that perhaps I might not be accepted? not sure. But I'm thinking the same, application open, perhaps I should apply again. They have a terrible set up

I'm not sure if you all read the thread from last year but it was a similar story in terms of disorganization: the people who did get video requests reported that their videos were only watched for like 30 seconds or 1 minute (WHY have us go through the trouble if you don't even want to watch?) and then they sent out acceptances to people who were supposed to be rejected and had to issue corrections.. and some people who DID get in got rejections.. it seems like kind of a mess.

Thanks for the useful info. This is really telling how the program will be. No wonder when I asked how the program is I don’t get replies that it is all well.

Horrible! I do remember reading this. I hope that doesn't happen this time around. Regarding the videos, I think you're right. They probably only view a few seconds to see how the applicant looks like, sounds like, and starts their answers. I know every school is different but who knows.

On a different topic, does anyone have information on which books they use for the first semester at CSUN ( for those in the program). Thanks

I have buddies who started programs at other schools and some who finished and they all say, every program is terrible one way or another. There are a lot politics in these programs and they try to take people out simply because they don't like you. I honestly think that all programs are bad LOL. As long as we get in somewhere and study ourselves and use clinical time as much as possible, we will make it.

Totally. Normally I'd be put off by all of the issues I've seen or heard about, but it really is the same at every school.

To play devil’s advocate they could be looking for people who exercise attention to detail as we already saw in this thread a person did not even see he got a video request until too late. Maybe they were looking for people who can follow instructions without questions. The content of the video interview wasn’t anything crazy enough to choose one candidate over another. I’m not sure answers would even differ that greatly for some questions. They could be looking for your ability to speak in public confidently and clearly. It’s all really just speculation at this point.

Hello, congrats on getting into the program and completing your first semester! Would you by chance happen to know if you have classmates who were accepted without being asked to complete a video interview?

Hi, thank you! I don't know the answer to that sorry ? Everyone I know in my program had the video interview.

Thats a possibility. Hence time limit on the questions . some people im sure went over and didn't follow instructions. You're right, thats always a good indication on whether a student will follow instructions. But still, terrible set up LOL.

I was thinking the same I’m confused as to why applications are opening for Spring didn't they used to take 30 for each cohort? Maybe not enough applicants to do so this time?

I find that odd as well.
