California State University, Northridge (CSUN) ABSN Fall 2021

Hi everyone! My name is Monica and I wanted to make this forum for everyone applying to the fall 2021 semester of CSUN ABSN. Good luck everyone ?

This anticipation is so nerve-wracking. I was really hopeful that they'd hold to their May 28th date that they stated in the email confirmation after I sent in my application. I totally get that they said that date was tentative, but it's the day I've been looking forward to for months now. It'll be so hard not to focus on it this whole long weekend.

I agree with you! I've been waiting for months now. But don't lose hope! Its almost there! Just try to enjoy this memorial day weekend! ?

Anyone have any idea if they look back at our application (personal statement/resume) combined with this new interview. Or just view the interview as its own entity.

Does anybody know if CSUNs program has a waitlist??? I've seen a few people on here post how they got into other programs and will be choosing that other school. If they were to get into Northridge would they be taking somebodies potential seat or do they pull somebody up from a waitlist to fill those spots?

Did you receive this interview by email yesterday??? I did not get offered an interview and I'm worried that it means I did not get accepted?

Csun has a waitlist. If you are to be waitlisted that would be the first email you would get, later on after acceptances are sent out. 

Yes I received my interview invite yesterday. Don't worry, people have been accepted without an interview! Also interview could be sent out in batches.

Also when are those interviews happening? If they were sent to everybody yesterday I feel like that means admissions decisions will be more so end of June at this rate.

They need to respond with a video application within 5 days of receiving the email.

How many of you received an email for the interview? I received mine on Thursday. I’m nervous ?

Does our video application interview have to be exactly 3 mins?! It says not to exceed 3 minutes, but that's extremely hard to do. Did anyone ask if it could be less than 3 minutes or slightly more than three minutes?

I didn’t receive an interview request but I would just take it at face value. Not to exceed 3 mins means just that. If it’s a little less, I’m sure that’s fine (but probably don’t go so short that you’re not saying anything) but don’t go over 3 mins. Following the instructions and not going over shows you respect their time.

Congrats to all those that received the video request! To those that did, I and the other hopefuls would really appreciate it if you posted you stats. If you feel comfortable and find the time, would you mind sharing your prereq grades + clinical/volunteer experience/hours? Thank you in advance if you share, I would really appreciate learning how I can improve for future applications♥️
