Hello!!
I wanted to start a forum for those applying to CSULA's ABSN program this upcoming Summer ?
Hope we can all encourage one another and cheer each other on! We can do it!

Last year invites seemed to go out almost until a couple days before they sent out decisions, so not sure if this is the last batch or not. Probably just depends on how many slots they've filled so far? Just guessing here based on last year...

Sorry for late response as your interview is over at this point. I felt good about it right after, but of course I then immediately thought of all the things I could've said better, or how maybe this or that part of my background wasn't exactly what they were looking for, etc, etc...
The advice I was given for my post-interview jitters was that they wouldn't have interviewed me if they didn't think I brought something unique to the table. We can't know if we are exactly what they are looking for given the small cohort size, but we can take being interviewed (or even being considered for an interview) as a sign that we're doing something right regardless of the outcome! So likely if you were just your awesome self in the interview, you probably did the best thing for your chances in the moment.
Fingers crossed!
NurseFlex said:For those who have interviewed - (without giving anything away for those who haven't) - for the question that involved a range from 1-5, does anyone remember which # end was "easy" versus "hard"?? of course I'm panicking now, thinking I got them mixed up smh....
1 is most difficult, 5 is easy. Don't panic! I'm sure you are fine.
NurseFlex said:So how do y'all think they make the final decisions? Fill slots as they go through interviews, give people an overall ranking, etc? Looks like they're interviewing until noon on Friday so that's a pretty quick turnaround!
Safe to assume it's in batches I think, no idea how they'll decide otherwise though. I haven't heard anyone in years past talk about a point system/ranking like at some other CSUs. ...Fri/Sat can't come soon enough...

damn maybe I should've picked an earlier interview date then ? alas, looking forward to tomorrow too! trying to stop myself from refreshing my email every five minutes. but whatever happens, we'll all make it somehow! ❤️
You'll do great! I had my interview earlier this week. Treat it as a job interview. Questions are very similar. Know your "why nursing" and give examples. Tell your story.
remember, you are more than your stats. They want to know who you are as a person and whether you'd be a good fit for the program, and not a toxic nursing student.
sending you and everyone interviewing this week the best of vibes and success.

Hi there. Perhaps the people who received an invite today already took the slots for Thursdays and Fridays. I noticed that as soon as I booked mine the time slot option went away. I do see availability showing for tomorrow 3/8 starting at 9:00am. However, this might be a mistake since the email states interviews are Thursdays and Fridays only
I would reach out to Kastely and ask him about tomorrow's slots that are open. Good luck!
