San Joaquin Delta College ADN Fall 2014

U.S.A. California

Hi friends, my name is John. I'm new here and wanted to start a thread for those applying for the Fall 2014 admission at SJDC. I've read similar threads about past classes and found them interesting and informative.

I just finished up Physiology (still nervously waiting for my grade) and I'll be taking the TEAS at Modesto JC on 12/20. After that I'll be putting together my application!

I just noticed on Delta's ADN site that the TEAS will be offered at the Stockton campus the second week of January. Still no information on when the actual application period is going to be.

Anybody else want to share any thoughts, concerns, rumors, or advice?

So I am applying for Fall 2014 as well. I am so nervous though, it seems each semester I check this site it gets more and more competative. I also saw that Delta offered the TEAS in January. I wish I would have known, I ended up taking the TEAS at Sac State because when I called Delta they said they wouldn't offer the TEAS again until July 2014. Oh well:(

I'm pretty nervous too. Have you heard anything about when the application period is going to open? I talked to the nursing counselor a couple days ago and she's guessing the end of this month but isn't sure yet.

I was really close to driving all the was to Sac State to take the TEAS too, but then MJC popped up and the timing was perfect. Feels good to have that out of the way. Now the only thing to worry about is getting everything right on the application. I have to include course descriptions with some prerequisites from another school, and from what I've been told that is one of the most common areas where applications get disqualified :nailbiting:

Hi everyone ! I am new to this too, I will be applying for the Fall 2014 as well! Thought I would introduce myself now :) I am nervous also about the application process !!!

The application should open on the fourth week of January ! so sometime next week!(hopefully)

So I checked the announcements today and it says applications will be accepted 1/27-2/5. I can't wait, but I wish I had done better on the TEAS test to bring my total score higher. We shall see:)

Thanks for the announcement :)! Did you recently take your TEAS? I understand what you mean! The TEAS is what brought my points up considerably it was my last hope!

I took it in November at Sac State. What was your score if you don't mind me asking, did you use the study manual or practice tests?

I have taken it twice the first time I got a 74.7 I studied the study manual and then tested myself with the 5 teas practice tests.. I took it again because my points were way too low and I didn't get asked to turn in paperwork :(. The second time I took it I got an 89.3 it think its because I knew what the test was like and also because I read the study manual front and back and focused on what I did poorly the first time. The second time I didn't really focus on the 5teas book because I spent most of my time studying the study manual. How did you do ? Is this the first time you apply to deltas ADN program?

Wow that's awesome, I should have done that. I got a 78:(. This is my first year so we will see how it goes, I got an A in anatomy and micro, a B in physio, and A's in my other classes, but the TEAS score really dropped my overall. I'm applying with a total score of 66. I wish it was higher. When I took the practice TEAS on the AIS site I was scoring an 89% so not sure what happened:(

That's actually pretty good for your first time! I know a lot of smart people (get As in almost all prerequisites) that don't even pass it or get really low scores their first time....I've also heard form some people who took the online practice test and get a lower score by about 10% than the real test...its not just you. I don't think you should worry that's a pretty solid score. My friend was alternate number 2 for this last cohort and her score was a 64.5 :) I think you should be good !
