El Camino College Spring 2009

  1. Hello there,

anyone else starting at El Camino College in the Spring?

I'm so excited and can't wait for orientation on December 3rd. Just thought it might be fun to get to know other students starting in the Spring.

How long was it before from the time you applied to the time you got accepted. I am hoping to go there but I hear the wait list is 2 years.

    Hi there,

I applied in October 2007 so I waited for 2 semesters. I think the waiting is not that long now. I spoke with Martha in the nursing department and she said that the wait is 1 semester only now. If you are done with your pre-reqs go ahead and apply this coming March and you may even be able to start in the Fall of '09 or Spring '10 at the very latest.

Let me know if you have any other question.

    daniela,
i was wondering if you knew whether or not you could still apply if you had one class in progress? i have have all my other pre-reqs, and ge classes for that matter, complete except micro which i am currently enrolled in. i was wondering if you knew anything about that, or if you have a number that i could call to speak to someone to ask myself. you can send me a pm if you have any suggestions that you dont want to post publicly. any help or advice is greatly appreciated at this point. thanks again....

    hi there,

i am not sure if you can apply with a pre-req in progress. i know that when i applied back in 2007 you could but i also know that they changed their application process.
you can try to call the nursing department or send them an e-mail at:

    winifred baldonado
    (310) 660-3281
    wbaldonado@elcamino.edu

they're not always good at returning e-mails or picking up their phone though. if you cannot get in touch with them, make an appointment with a nursing couselor, mine is ken key and i really like him. he seems to really know everything about the program and the application process. here are his e-mail and phone #: kkey@elcamino.edu - (310) 660-3593 x3631.

i hope this helps and good luck with everything.

    Hi,
I'm starting in the Spring -yeah! I just replied to another post, that I'm feeling a little nervous. I heard only one A was given in the last semester Nursing Essentials course. Have you bought your books yet? I'm going to check on Amazon before going to the book store.

Did you buy one or two uniforms? I bought two just so I didn't have to stress if one was in the wash since the clinicals are back to back. Overkill ?!
