I just got my acceptance email from Grossmont College Schoool of Nursing for Spring, 2012!!! I can't believe it, it literally brought me to tears that after all my hard work I've been accepted into the first of the six programs I applied for.

Today is the best day of my life.

Specializes in Pediatric Home Care, Dr Office/Clinic.

Congratulations! Your hard work paid off. :nurse:

Thanks everyone!

If there are any current Grossmont students out there, I'd love to get some insight about Clinicals locations, best places to live and overall life in El Cajon and Grossmont College. i live in Long Beach, CA, so if I end up accepting the offer, I would be moving down there.

Thanks!

I just got the email of acceptance as well for the Spring 2012 Grossmont College Nursing Cohort. Totally excited. Hope to see you at orientation on November 18 :)

Congrats Antro!!! Pretty great feeling.... Are you from the area? I was wondering where the best place to live near the school, and if you know where the clinical sites are!!

Congrats to you as well! And yes, the feeling is pretty awesome. I do not live in the immediate area of campus, so I don't know too much about the living situation near school. I live about 15 miles away, but the commute is quick--mostly freeway. The clinical sites are spread all over the county. If you go to the Grossmont Nursing home page and click on "SD Nursing Consortium" you can get detailed info about the participating medical facilities. Good to hear from a prospective future classmate. By the way, San Diego is an amazing place to live:)

Congrats to you!!!!!! I lived in SD for about 6 years it really is amazing.....I was just wondering if you by chance brought the Ati study guide version 5. If so are you willing to sell it? If so for how much?

Thank you so much! How is the public transportation down there? If I lived in San Diego, would it be a big deal to take the train over to El Cajon?

Sunshine, no, I just used the online practice tests for the TEAS. They were very helpful and are 100% FREE!!!

ok thank u and good luck to u

There's no train that goes to Grossmont. There are busses, but unfortunately I don't think San Diego is the easiest city to get around with public transportation. East county is a great place to live, but you have to be careful about certain areas of El Cajon. If you want a short commute to campus I'd look in La Mesa, Santee, San Carlos, or Mt Helix area. Congratulations and good luck.
