well, i just called my recruiter to find out about where i'm going for NTP and station, and she didn't pick up my call. i called another recruiter who works in the same office, and he told me that their system has not been updated as far as COT and base assignments. i know people have been getting their orders out...even those that haven't graduated yet. and i already have my rn license. bummer...
has anybody else from northern california been told the same thing? i'm still hoping for january COT but it's looking like i'll be going to march COT instead. i don't like the feeling of being in limbo. i hope i get a call soon.

I'm not in California, I'm in Texas but the same thing is happening here. I talked to my recruiter earlier today and he said AFPC is getting them out to the recruiters as they are completing them. My recruiter had only gotten 1 out of 4 accepted applicants COT and assignment information. Hang in there! Hopefully by the end of the week we will know something.

I'm in Phoenix. Same story. I'm fully qualified too. I think they got such and influx of new grad that they are scrambling to place them and get them through the schools they need to do. It's a logistics nightmare, I'm sure. My recruiter told me "slim" chance I'd be able to go in January, though that was our initial aim. In retrospect, we should have pushed faster and set our sights on October.
Hang in there! It's really nice to know I'm not the only one holding my breath and turning blue!

i finally spoke with my recruiter, and she said that she has not received any COT/base assignment for any of her recruits. sucks... she said it has to do with being disorganized compounded by the large number of selected officers. my recruiter said if we don't hear anything by tomorrow, then chances are we are going to March COT as those going to January COT must be notified at least 30 days before the COT date. i do hope we hear by the end of the week though just so we can finally just ease up with this whole waiting game.
i'm glad to hear from you both SeekirRN and midinphx. congrats to us all for making it!

I am in the same boat as everyone else in this thread... except I am currently in MO. I was a November board applicant and have my license. I was originally told yes for Jan COT, but of course as the days unfold it is becoming less of an expectation and more of a dream...
I put a little perspective on this today when I talked to a lady who has no job, no skills, and no rent for the month, and kids to feed. I figure... so I have to wait a few more months. So what? I'm disappointed, but really, it's nothing.
(still I'm hoping...... :) lol
midinphx... yes... it's good to see it in that perspective. we think we have it bad but really we don't. waiting two more months is not too bad... i'm looking at it as more time with my loved ones.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that thirty day thing...it's not always the case, especially if they have folks turn slots down (it happens) or something happens to disqualify them for some reason.
really? even for NTP folks?
It happens - it's hard to believe, but it happens. Someone gets hurt, or pregnant, or gets cold feet/second thoughts, and POOF - you get the call.

Hello there!
I am considering becoming an RN for the active Air Force. I do not know anything about the process and was hoping to learn how it all works. Currently, I have an BSN, RN, and PHN. I am also in the enlisted reserves as a medical tech. I was wondering what paperwork is involved and what else is there? Is there an interview?
Since you all have been accepted and went through the process, I am hoping you will be a good source of info. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
First stop is to get in touch with the nursing recruiter. There is a ton of paperwork. Proof of license, transcripts to be gotten, letters of reference, etc. Then you go to Meps, then an interview with a nurse at a base. Then more paperwork, then a long wait. Start early. It takes months. Good luck.
