Cali RN, terminology needed

Published

Specializes in Trauma ICU.

Hey you guys.

I'm a German ICU RN wanting to work in Cali. Love love love the U.S. and Cali :)

im wondering if any of you know a book or application to learn the English medical terminology. I've googled some NCLEX questions and downloaded a free KAPLAN prep app and I found that I'm having difficulties with the terminology. So I look up words all the time but I'm pretty sure there is books etc. to study medical terminology. Thanks :)

You might want to look into a local community college to take a medical terminology course or just do an internet search to find a text. Your coworkers should also be willing to help on short notice.

Thanks for your reply. I don't live in CA though. I'm still in Germany getting a higher degree. Even though I don't think they will evaluate it in CA but still good to have. CC would be good if I lived in CA but I would like to go through the entire evaluating process starting in about 1 1/2 to 2 years and have the terminology done by then. I know its hard to get a GC though but I still believe that there is hospitals willing to sponsor H-1b visas.

The issue is at the moment CA has a surplus of nurses so finding a employer willing to go the H1b route will be very difficult.

Yeah it's been pretty tough for international nurses to get a job over in the us lately. I'm a ICU RN not quite sure if that will make the whole H-1b visa easier

Its hard to find an employer that wills ponsor H-1b visas in big cities. Try North Dakota or South Dakota.
