Calhoun Community College Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone! It's almost that time again for nursing applications to be put in for Calhoun. I haven't seen a thread created for the students that will be applying for the spring 2016 Nursing program so I decided to start one! I heard that the link will be opening up sometime in July and close sometime in August. I still have to take a TEAS test before I apply. Anyway, I'm looking forward to chatting with potential nursing applicants!!

Hello !! You beat me to the punch, I was gonna write a post myself after constantly checking for Spring 16 one lol.. but I have to take the Teas V as well .. let the "journey of waiting" begin lol

Good to know there is a page available for the future nursing students of ccc in spring 2016. Took the teas yesterday. Scored above their metrics for the mean. Looks like the application process ends on August 31st. Won't know anything until mid October. Long wait. I'll keep in touch.

Lol I know right? I haven't even turned my application in and I'm already thinking about the waiting game! I'll be taking the TEAS test next week on the 22nd at Drake state. Are you guys going to the Nursing Info session? If so which one? I think I'll be attending the one on the 21st. Hopefully I'll have enough points especially since they changed the points system. @3rdgippy if you don't mind me asking how many points do you have since you already took the TEAS?

I'm curious why you are taking it at Drake? They will charge you 27 dollars to transfer it to CCC. My application score is 229.9. I hope it is enough. Last scores that got in were as low as 164. High end is 259. I'm right in the middle.

I've already gone to an info session, it's pretty boring stuff but you get the points for it.

I live in Huntsville so I just decided to take it at Drake since its closer to where I live and it'll be at 8 in the morning. I think you're fine as far as your points go. I'm retaking the TEAS because when I calculated my points with my first Teas, they were about 190 and I want something in the 200's. Oh ok! The only reason I'm going to the info session is for the 2 points lol I feel like every point counts right now! So have you already turned your application in? I hope more people get to see this thread!!

I haven't applied yet because I have my last A&P class finishing up in about 2 weeks. Summer semester with A&P 2 is fast and furious! After that I can apply and the point total above will be used. I've been told anything above 200 is in the mix. Last application process they took 164,176,200,203,225x3 applicants, and 259. Every point does count.

Did you read the fine print when you signed up? The TEAS at Drake is only for Drake students. They won't send it to Calhoun. And they won't give you a refund. :( So stupid.

I called both campuses and made sure it was okay for me to take the TEAS at Drake even though I'm not a Drake student/applicant and they (Calhoun and Drake) said it was fine. So no worries! The only bad thing is that I do have to pay $27 for me to transfer my TEAS from Drake to Calhoun

I had thought that they would transfer the TEAS V test scores for a "nominal" fee.

I dont take the Teas until August, I wanted to give myself the longest amount of time possible to study for it because it will make up the bulk of my points.... I plan on going to the info session thats coming up next to get those 2 points too ! every bit will help lol... is it not so funny though that this post has over 400 views but we're the only ones that have commented lol.. come out, come out, wherever you are CCC Nursing Program hopefuls
