Calhoun Community College Spring 2016

U.S.A. Alabama

Hello everyone! It's almost that time again for nursing applications to be put in for Calhoun. I haven't seen a thread created for the students that will be applying for the spring 2016 Nursing program so I decided to start one! I heard that the link will be opening up sometime in July and close sometime in August. I still have to take a TEAS test before I apply. Anyway, I'm looking forward to chatting with potential nursing applicants!!

Lol yea for a "normal" fee of 27 bucks !! I just came back from taking my TEAS and now I have 220.9pts total, hopefully that's enough (crossing fingers!!). @Failizzy what kind of study materials will you be using for the TEAS? I highly suggest the study manual by ati. I rented it from Barnes and Noble and it really helped out A LOT! I know right?!? Where are ALL the CCC spring 2016 applicants at?? I would love to hear from y'all!!

I am applying, and will be retaking the TEAS. I'm considering taking it at Drake on 8/26. I currently only have 139.9 points, so I will need a lot more to get in. I am doubtful, but am trying to get as many points as I can this time around.

Hello all I am glad to see I am not the only person already freaking out about the admission process. I am hoping to be accepted to the CC LPN to RN mobility Spring 2016, took my TEAS Monday , I currently have 228 points. I'm not sure if the points average is high or lower for the mobility program, does anyone have any idea?? I might lose

all of my hair or develop an ulcer before I even apply.

Cheers:)

Im using the ATI study manual.. i went to check it out from campus where i realized you only get it for a week so im gonna rent from barnes and noble too.. its great although it doesnt go deep enough in some areas.. ive watched tonss of khan academy vids though.. so im hoping for a really good score !! and to everyone that joined in on the chatter !!

Hi!! Glad you decided to join the fun (or soon-to-be nerve-wrecking wait lol). I'm pretty sure you're points are high enough to get in! I was reading the fall 2015 thread and it looks like anyone with over 200 pts got in unless they left something out of their application (TEAS scores, transcripts etc..). Oh I'll definitely be losing ALL of my hair during all of this!! :nailbiting:

The ATl study manual was good when it came to the math stuff but the science not so much. Aw man I didn't know about the Khan Academy videos darn it!! When will you be taking your TEAS? I still have to print out my transcript and go to the Nursing Info session and then I'll be ready to send my application out (I've already filled everything out). How many points do you have so far not counting the TEAS?

Hi there! I retook the TEAS also since I only had 190 pts before. What are you using to study if you don't mind me asking? If you can try and get the ATI study manual and probably use the Khan videos like failizzy mentioned, especially since the ATI one doesn't go into the science portion into detail and for me that was the hardest part (Earth science and life science to be exact). Are you applying for ADN day? Good luck!!

wellllll i'll have about 12 points ...before the teas :(.. i dnt take it until the 17th of august to give myself the maximum amount of time because the points from the test are really gonna be what gets me in the door.. i read the thread for fall '15 and at least one person got in with 170-something.. sooo im shooting for at least 90 on both exams.. the math section is pretty straight forward so im not worried ab it so much.. im jst trying to study the science section with everything in me.. im prayerful though !! i think i've read before too that its easier to get in during the spring because you aren't really competing with incoming hs graduates.. so im pretty optimistic about it..

Just stumbled on this thread and so glad I did! I am also applying for the career mobility program (LPN to RN) for spring 2016. I have 222 points. Good luck to everyone as we wait anxiously:up:

Hello! So excited to see this thread- I just posted my own before I realized you had this up. I just took my TEAS this month and I have been stalking this site trying to figure out what the cut offs usually are. I don't have my a&p II class until Fall so it won't count but I have a 227 right now. September 18 needs to be here now!

Heyyyy !! I'm taking a&p this fall too !! what happens September 18th is that when pple usually find out ?? have you gone to an info session yet ??

I went to the info session yesterday actually! I didn't really learn much that wasn't already on Calhoun's website but it's two points and I'll take any help I can get. She said that they are hoping to start sending out letters that week.
