Anyone planning on applying to the Spring 2011, CSUSM, accelerated ABSN program? Just wondering if there is anyone else out there:)
Hi - I am in the process of getting all my transcripts together and was wondering whether or not they will do a review to see if you have all your pre-reqs prior to submitting the TEAS or if I have to have my TEAS done as well? I think I am close to having my pre-reqs done, but just want to be sure!
Hi mimizan -I am hoping for fall, but if I am offered a spot it will probably be one of those last minute ones since I don't think my pre-reqs will be complete until the end of this semester. How long did it take them to do the initial review of your transcripts?
Hey oaktown!
I'd say it was a couple of months until I got my prereq evaluation/program advising sheet in the mail. However, I had all my transcripts sent directly to CSUSM and some of them got lost in the mail. The extended learning site advises having transcripts sent to you and then you sending them to CSUSM.
Ok so question? I am enrolled at Kaplan in the Healthcare Rehab Technician program because when I am done in Oct I will have my EKG, Phlebotomy and CNA License...then in january will take the Teas Test for RN at Kaplan in San Diego!...My question is when we graduate will I have an RN certificate or DEGREE because my neighbor is telling me that there is a difference and that Kaplan and any like colleges offer certs not degree...therefore finding a job is close to impossible...help!!!
Hey everyone! I've finished all of my preq's and going to take the TEAS exam on Feb. 22...and then apply to CSUSM.....I'm from the S.F. Bay Area and planning to relocate to Temecula/San Marcus if I do get accepted into their Accelerated BSN program *fingers crossed!!!*....
Does anybody know how much tuition is for the program? Also, do you know if they have clinical rotations on weekends too? I know NOT working while in the program is highly recommended, but trying to see if I an work on the weekends while attending school....
Good luck to you all!
I am currently in my fourth semester in the Temecula program. It is possible to have clinicals on the weekends. There are 20 students in my group that are on Saturday's this semester. It is possible to work during the first 6 months of the program as your load is not bad, after that I would not advise it. Your last couple semesters are not heavily loaded either, so perhaps working then would be possible. Tuition is about 40,000 for the 2 years.

Thanks for the advice! Do you live on campus or outside of campus? Any areas near the campus you recommend for housing?
Were you able to get into the program the first time you've applied? I'm hoping I can get into the program asap!
I'm surprised tuition is about $40,000! Thought it would be a lot less than that...
Thanks again and good luck!

For those of you going to CSUSM ABSN, who do you do your background check through? Is it the San Diego Nursing Service-Education Consortium that is run by American Databank?
