Cal State LA & Long Beach

Published

Hello

Is anyone planning on applying this fall for Cal state LA or Cal state Long Beach?

Specializes in Surgical/Trauma ICU.

I think you meant next fall, but yes, I'm applying to both.

Yes, sorry I meant to say applying this fall during Oct for next fall 2010. If you do not mind me asking did you take the Teas test yet? I am taking it soon and I am so nervous because I need to get a good score. my pre rec gpa is a 3.7 and overall so far is a 3.5 do you think this is good enough? What about you hows your gpa?

Yeah I have a 3.8 total in my prereqs so far (I have physio and stats left to take this fall). I took the TEAS twice (you can take it as many times as you want). I did not study at all before taking it the first time and I scored 100% on the math and 88% overall. I just took it for a second time on Saturday to try and improve my overall score and I'm waiting on the results (I got my results by the following tuesday last time and so I'm very impatient right now waiting for them to be posted online). I was VERY surprised at how well I did, and it brought my hopes up a bit because my science prereq gpa is a bit on the low side at the moment. 4.0 in GE and 3.0 in Sciences - I still have Physio left so hopefully I can get it up to a 3.2... my anatomy class killed and buried me last semester ©

All of the statistics are on the CSULB nursing website too.

GOOD LUCK!!! I can't wait to get this year out of the way and find out if I get accpeted, it's my first choice nursing school.

Congrats on the teas scores that is excellent. Do you think they will frown upon a student who has taken the teas more then one or two times. I am so nervous and hope that my gpa is good enough as well but Long beach only lets students have one pre rec in progress and will count it as a C so I am not to sure if I can apply there because I am doing speech and my lower division chem that I am taking since I took upper division and got a B I wanted to take lower division for an A and that will count but I too cannot wait until this is all over.

They don't care how many times you take the TEAS, the only look at the scores you send them. But as long as you only have one course in progress in Spring that is okay. It doesn't matter about how many you are taking in Fall, I'm assuming that is what you were talking about but I might be mistaken. What is your science GPA? again, look at the stats page on the website, it is SO very helpful.

Yes, by spring I think I should have just one course, but I am applying this October meaning it will be fall still so I am not sure what they mean by one class in progress as in fall or spring I did not see them specify that. My science gpa now is a 3.5 but after fall if I get an A in the lower division chem which I am hoping it should be a 3.7. Thanks for the stats page!

They mean in the Spring. The supplemental application is not due until February 15th so it gives you time to get your transcripts in order from the previous semester.

What version of the TEAS did you guys take for Long Beach?
