CA Nursing Schools Prereq GPA only

Published

Hi I think this is my second post so I'm sorry California residents.

I was wondering if anyone knew which CSUs only look at prerequisite GPAs. I know the nursing program in Fresno State accept people based on prereq GPAs only.

I have a 3.2 as my overall GPA but as of right now I have a prerequisite GPA of 4.0 (3 classes in progress)

I'm working very hard to try and maintain the 4.0 but wanted to know which CSUs I would have a better chance in getting accepted too

Thanks in advance!!

I go to SFSU. I had a 3.6 overall GPA and a 3.7 prerequisite GPA. I would recommend looking at the NCLEX pass rates from the BRN Board of Registered Nursing - NCLEX Pass Rates. Do well on your TEAS or any other entrance exam and go from there. I would really recommend going to a school with a pass rate of higher than 90%. Also try and contact some faculty from the schools you want to attend and start a dialogue. Apply everywhere and be picky. I know you think you're on the of wrong side of things to be being picky but its important to get into a good program and not just settle. Good luck!

SJSU only uses your GPA and TEAS score. Check out their School of Nursing website for more info.
