CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students

World Registration

Published

I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?

I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:

  1. SS number
  2. Local license in the Philippines
  3. Copy of ur clinical rotation schedule for your cases: Assisted/Actual deliveries, cord dressing, and major/minor surgeries
  4. A complete school curriculum hundred pages or more sent directly from ur nursing school to the board. (the board doesn't accept the condensed version of the curriculum
  5. A one-page curriculum outline and academic calendar.

Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.

I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this :uhoh3:

hi MistyBrent08, i message u in ur inbox, hop u got it,..just add me in my ym acct its [email protected] u,:)

yes! got it. thanks for the reply

Hi everyone! Just want to know if everybody who's planning to take the nclex-rn here in Cali is experiencing the same denial from Ca BRN or there are also some who's fortunately got an ATT. Im here in Cali visiting my cousin presently and planning to take the exam. I dont know if I should proceed with the application knowing the issue right now. Im also from Virginia and thought to take the nclex-rn here in CA since they don't require CGFNS and English exam. Should I just challenge the lvn or go back to va. Im so confused right now.

Guys, please help. I am from California but chose to leave to get my nursing ed. here in the Phil. It only took me 3 years to finish the course because the school credited all the subjects I have taken in Cali. I just graduated this summer and instead of feeling ok, I hear about all of these new requirements by the BON in Cali. I have no idea/clue about what's happening with these new requirements. I am somewhat worried now, your advise would greatly be much appreciated. What are the steps would you advise me to do? Thank you in advance.

Nothing you can do but submit your application, did you have clincals concurrently? Were your courses you transferred in follow the policies regarding transfer courses that CA applies to US schools?

I agree with Ginger's Mom there's nothing you can do but submit the application and the evaluator will evaluate it. I just hope your cases are not concurrent with the theories. I'm still waiting the reply from BRN but i guess i'll be denied too like everyone else here. I have completions...i already submitted my application for LVN.

Oh my.. I received the exact same letter as you guys did. My cases are not concurrently with theories because sometimes there are just benign duty. I'm already worried now. :(

Guys, which state will you recommend to apply for application right now? My application in ca bon got denied. And im havig a hard time right now. Im from va and theyre strict here so i need to find whih state is best

What do you mean about being "strict" in Va?

Va is commonwealth

They have their own standard.

2nd problem is i dont have license as rn in phil.

@krinnie: Have you tried to submit an explanation letter as to why you didn't take the local board?
