I had already registered online in Pearson Vue but I think I'm not yet eligible to take the test. Is there an expiration date for my registration at PV?
I received a letter from CA BON requesting for new requirements such as:
Fortunately, I had the first 2 requirements but I am worried that the last 3 will take time to be accomplished.
I am wondering if it's just me who have this requirement. Most of NCLEX passers I know weren't required on those listed above. It's really hard to focus on review while your thinking of this
@retetestis did your analyst told you to pay for the $30 service fee?..my analyst did not mention about that, i tried to asked him but he answered me to just send him a written request, i don't get it though,..now I'm a bit lost, since, i already mailed him the written request..
My email add [email protected]. Yes I did write a letter with a money order.@Melai12 did you sent your letter already?I need help on the letter requesting the copy of my school record to be sent to bvnpt? if you can help me i would really appreciate it thanks!
I receive a letter today about I need a copy of my schedule rotation for all required cases: assisted-actual deliveries, cord care and major-minor surgery. I am quite confuse..are they asking about the time and dates on my duties regarding my OB and OR, or they asking about the cases of OB and surgeries we passed to the school and PRC for our local exams. I am here in california, and most of my friends who applied here for nclex were not asked about that. its only me, who only applied for license of endorsement since my old license was from vermont. could post a copy of what this schedule rotation look like? thanks u so much
yes, and here is the message from my analyst:"
California Code of Regulations (CCR) Section 1426(d) states that theory and clinical practice shall be concurrent in the following areas: geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental health/psychiatric nursing, obstetrics and pediatrics.
In your country, each student is required to complete theory and clinical training. In addition, part of the clinical experience includes five (5) clinical cases in each of the following areas: assisted deliveries, actual deliveries, cord dressing, major and minor operations. The Commission on Higher Education Department (CHED) together with the schools offering a program in nursing in the Philippines have guidelines of when and what nursing course(s) will cover each of the five (5) clinical cases within the semester.
A review of the educational documents submitted by your nursing school (transcripts, related learning experience (RLE), clinical rotation and clinical cases) reflects that some and/or all of the clinical cases were not completed during the semester that the corresponding courses were offered.
You have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Philippines. The Board would recommend completion of Medical-Surgical II, along with an Obstetrics Nursing course, in a California nursing school where theory and clinical training is concurrent; however, completion of the courses and at what level of training will be the decision of the California school of nursing.
While completing clinical practice out of sequence is acceptable to meet the requirements in your country, it does not meet the requirements in California. A comprehensive evaluation of your training indicates that you do not meet the requirements as set forth in CCR Section 1426(d).
The situation would be the same if you acquired a license in another U.S. state and then attempt to endorse into California. The licensure requirements would still be based on your education. "
I Think I will have trouble with these one.. I finish my cases on OB and my surgeries after my OB an MS theories. We only have few months on Labor and delivery, then we are rotated again on the ward and ICU. how could we finish the cases on that span of time?? I already have my license from vermont and all Im applying for is license by endorsement.
Hi I'm also a applicant for nclex RN too Im from CA too. Then I'm a BSN graduate last March 2009 in Phil. That time I don't have my immigrant visa yet. So I took NLE but sad to say I failed it. Then Last year Aug 2011 I got my US visa and migrate in CA last Sept 2011. Then I wait for my SS and green card then let all the holidays to be end. I decide to apply for NCLEx rn this march 2012 and received my checklists of requirements and goes like this:
a. items that must come directly to the Board from your nursing school
1. clinical rotation schedule for all clinical cases completed (actual and assisted deliveries, cord dressings, major/minor procedures) reflecting exact dates clinical coursework was completed, locations rotations were completed. instructor signature. etc.
2. academic calendar which reflects exacts dates each semester, all holidays and all break begin and end
b. items to be provided by you (the applicant)
1.nursing diploma (copy)
2.US SS card (copy)
3.clear copy of entire visa / passport for 2005-2009 time frame. a copy of permanent redince card.
*My dillema is I heard and read here on allnurses.com that CA BON are now requiring to complete ALL THE OR/DR SCRUBS before senior year. I mean is we should finish all are cases before entering 4th yr. 3 of my friends are now facing that problem
Your reactions and opinion will help me a lot thanks :)
I got same dilemma too. so to make my burden and story short I think.. CA BON treat applicants differently. Coz for ex. if the applicant is already RN in their country (for ex. PHIL) they'll not ask for more requirements. Compare to un-licensed one, they ask for many crap and stuff then after you stated the reason why you're not holding a license they still ask for many paperworks and yet denied you at the end? I just apply this March 2012 and recieved my checklist to be done but I'm thinking if Im gonna still pursue my RN career.
