Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I've read a couple of posts here saying that another option to have CA rn lic is to have MSN and they will give us the lic without repeating the MS and OB, is that true? now for MSN i know you'd need to have an RN lic to get into the program, what if you study in a diff state where you have your RN lic and then come back to california once you finish MSN would that work?
I'm planning to move to Las Vegas if I dont get my ca rn lic by endorsement and I'm trying to decide whether to do PA school but if I can get licensed here in California upon finishing MSN school i'd choose NP program in a heartbeat!
Hope someone can help me clarify this.
Thank you so much!

If your ultimate goal is to work in California as an RN then you must fulfill California BON requirements. Getting an RN license from another state will not solve your initial concurrency problem. You cannot endorse to California from another state if you have not met California's requirements. There is no way around it other than completing those classes. Getting those classes are next to impossible as Nursing schools here in California require you to apply (providing you can satisfy their requirements) and finish their entire nursing program.
There are posters here who claim they are taking those deficient classes but these posters have so far except for one or two refuse to reveal the names of the said schools which makes them highly suspicious.
thank you so much for your response!

All US states, including CA, base their licensure decisions on the pre-licensure education of the individual -- the nursing program that the person completed in order to make her/him eligible for licensure. BSN completion programs (for those initially licensed via an ADN or diploma program) and graduate programs in nursing don't factor in to that decision, because they don't include any further basic nursing content. If your initial, pre-licensure nursing program doesn't meet the state requirements for licensure, no additional nursing degrees completed after the fact are going to change that.
thanks guys! just read somewhere that the OP's analyst said something about taking MSN or taking the deficiencies that's why I asked

Your best answer is to write an email directly to the CA BRN (don't expect a rapid reply and may have make a few inquires and remain patient). You may be asked to simply submit the non refundable application fees to get an answer or a quicker one.
Just remember that even that reply may be changed without notice at any time and any day such as what happened to the several thousands of international applicants (mostly from the Phils) that were caught off-guard without notice about the concurrency requirements being strictly enforced back in Nov. 2011.
