sorry just had to add this... if her tube ruptured, then the ectopic was not 'misdiagnosed'- it is clear that she did have an ectopic. it's quite common to treat ectopics pharamacologically before considering surgery. there are criteria that an ectopic should meet before being surgically removed, a less invasive option is always preferred over a more invasive.
The concern with lady partsl births after c-sections is the slight increase in uterine rupture (not rupture of the abd incision) so I would definitely suggest she question her doctor on that. I have a friend who had a ruptured tube after an ectopic pg and went on to birth lady partslly. Your family member could request to see her operative report to see if anything else happened during her surgery for the ectopic pg.

Three years ago, a family member had a misdiagnosised ectopic pregnancy. The docs tried treating it pharmacologically, but it was too late and it failed. After being all night in the ER, docs decided surgery was needed. Were going to do laproscopically, but the tube had ruptured and there was too much blood. The doc did a typical C-section incision.
Now here we are, family member is pregnant. Being told, my need C-section due to abd surgery. Uterus is intact.
Why would a C-section be necessary since it was an abd incision and the uterus was not cut? Is there the possiblity that the abd incision could ruputre during labor and delivery?
Thanks!
