busy rehab unit-not enough nurses

Our RN head nurse is delegating more and more responsibilities to LPN's. We are a busy rehab unit and most of the nurses are doing paperwork. 1 nurse to pass meds and do treatments for 40 rehab pts is so hard to do. 2 nurses used to split the patient responsibility and the RN head nurse used to do the paperwork. Are other nurses seeing this? Everyone is going home at night feeling stressed and unhappy. I want our pts. to be healing and happy, but I can't do it all. We need more nurses dealing with pts and less paperwork being passed off to nurses.
