I hate my new job with a passion. Submitted my resignation letter request and they won't accept it and are trying to do everything to make me stay. Everything except pay us more and provide safer nurse-to-patient ratios. I am so depressed.

Wow! Are you under a contract or something? All you should have to do is submit a 2 week notice. Does not matter if they accept it or not. I hope you have someone to talk to. Burnout is very real.
No contract. I am still in unit orientation so I am not "essential staff" and was required to do their normal 2 or 4 week notice. But the resignation is just a request and then your unit manager has to accept it for your resignation to be final. My unit managers are trying to give me other options to make me stay, but what I really want is to switch units, and apparently, I have to wait 6 months for that. It has only been 2 months and I don't think I can last another 4 without hating my job and being burnt out which I do not want. I love being an RN and working in a more acute/critical setting but not under these conditions.
