2016 bsn program at kramer school of nursing questions...

PLEASE HELP!!!

I've been searching to find the exact figure (or close to) the tuition cost for the accelerated bsn and traditional bsn program for the Kramer school of nursing in Oklahoma. I did look at their website but they have everything broken down it is sort of confusing; I think I have an idea but I'm not quite sure so wanted to ask someone who knows.

I also would like to hear about some personal experiences of recent graduates from within the last 2 yrs of the program. I would like to know how many students either failed/ dropped out the programs if any, and if being a single mother of a 2 yr old is doable within the accelerated bsn program.

After doing a lot of research during this winter break I found that this school really does interest me. How is Oklahoma and is there daycares close to the school? I live in MA and if need be I will definitely move to Oklahoma to attend Kramer if I decide this school and if accepted. Does anyone have any stories of either yourself or knowing someone who was a single parent and was successful in the program and graduated from kramer???

I do have a BA and I know financial aid isn't really funded for a second bachelor degree. Does anyone know of any way I could receive money for the second degree or anything for single mothers such as grants etc...

I know I've written a lot and I'll end it right here for now. I really hope to hear back from a majority of people.

The last time I looked, tuition for the traditional BSN degree program was more than $800 per credit. Private student loans are the only feasible way to finance the very expensive tuition if you will be a second-degree student.

Please, save YOUR money and go to another nursing school. THEY DO NOT TEACH YOU. A lot of students transferred out after first semester. They set students up to fail. Pharmacology professor is SO WICKED and MEAN. She lies ALOT!!! Always messing up on exams and NEVER want to own it up. Health Assessment professor is the ONLY good teacher that knows her stuff. Claim to be a christian school but THEY ARE SO EVIL. Professor don't know how many lobes are in each part of the heart. People keep cheating because they don't teach. THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY. Know private schools that will teach you because you pay a lot. SAVE YOUR MONEY....LOOK ELSE WHERE PLEASE!!!

I'm also from the Mass area looking for schools out of state. I've decided not to attend Kramer after all the negative comments I've read. Maria Stacey, let me know of other schools you've considered. I also looked at MUSC.

@FutureRNRI yes after reading all the negative things about kramer doesn't sound like a place i will want to go to. But i've applied to MGHIHP in Boston, and got wait listed but I hope to be accepted bc I was able to get insight from recent grads from MGHIHP nursing program and I got nothing but GREAT feedback! made me feel so much better about the school knowing I was getting recent info about it. i also am looking at Becker i was just told by their director they have multiple RN programs to fit the needs of people who may have different educational backgrounds, a but pricey bc it is a private school but their NCLEX passing rate for 2014 was the top 2nd or 3rd school in MA (2015 i couldn't find for any school yet around the time i was looking). are u trying to get a BSN or Associates in nursing? i do know of other schools just easier for me to list the ones ur maybe interested in depending on the status ur looking for if it matters...

Hi,

I am going to start at the nursing school in Jan. 2017. I have seen many diverse comments about this nursing school and I was wondering if anybody who recently graduated from the program has any thoughts about the program. I am doing the accelerated program and I know it is expensive but this is the only program I have gotten into. I was just wondering how the classes were? Did you feel like you were prepared to take the NCLEX when you were finished with the program?

If you need to wait another year for another nursing school...DO IT!!! They don't teach you at all.

So did anybody end up attending Kramer? I too am looking into it to get my BSN as my second degree. I would start in August. I got waitlisted for OU, but am holding out hope, because that is where I would rather be. Did any anybody know the tuition cost I can't seem to find it on Kramer's website

Reading some of these comments is eye opening. No school is perfect and I think part of the problem with complaints about Kramer lies with some of the students they allow in. Not everyone is ready to be a nurse when they sign up for it. If you don't have good studying skills you will not do well and it is as simple as that. I can tell you I walk into hospitals and people are amazed with my knowledge. I am not here to down talk a school or place blame on an institution for my academic achievements but the negative talk on this site about Kramer is mostly from students who honestly maybe were not ready for the onslaught that is nursing school. Either school you choose to go to is up to you but my education at Kramer has been amazing. You definitely get what you pay for which means you get a dedicated staff that are here to help you along the way BUT make no mistakes they are here to teach you not to make you do what you are supposed to do. I see some students who go out on weekends and party then are shocked on Monday when they fail an exam. I never understood that. I read my book, study my notes, record my lectures, work, am involved in student organizations, and make straight A's. This school is expensive, I sign up and win lots of scholarships. Anyone that is willing to work hard is going to get it done. I also have friends who go to other schools that love it there. It is up to you but please do not believe the hype. Tuition is over 16,000 a semester but you get transfer scholarships (at least 3,000 if you have a 3.0) depending on ultimately how high your GPA is.

Your insight is very helpful. That makes me feel so much better. I am not the party time and am ready to get into school, so I can start a career I lovw. I think Kramer will be a great fit for me and I can't wait to get started. How far along are you into the program and are you doing the accelerated or traditional route?
